In 1972, Oliva only played in a 12 game stretch in June. The Twins played in Yankee stadium in late April and mid-July. He is also dressed in the 1972 polyester uniform so this wasn't taken in a earlier year. Was there a provision that he could be in uniform but on the DL? Or did he take up a roster spot?

I've this card for nearly 40 years and I don't think noticed the typo. But people who know me would feel that's typical.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1986621680116407176.post-37738038214305761632010-12-02T01:37:52.233-05:002010-12-02T01:37:52.233-05:00Wow, that's a doozy.Wow, that's a doozy.Play at the Platehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14231140141558021698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1986621680116407176.post-15857321248264426132010-12-01T13:11:38.822-05:002010-12-01T13:11:38.822-05:00They also incorrectly spelled "Designated Hit...They also incorrectly spelled "Designated Hitter" as "Outfield" - that seems like a more obvious typo.

(Love you, Tony O!)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1986621680116407176.post-39649197763972652010-12-01T12:06:07.882-05:002010-12-01T12:06:07.882-05:00That is one major typo. That is one major typo.night owlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11673973790245316059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1986621680116407176.post-22516946926154168892010-12-01T10:42:00.684-05:002010-12-01T10:42:00.684-05:00I had the pleasure of talking to Oliva last July i...I had the pleasure of talking to Oliva last July in the dugout. He was so respectful of the game, old and new. It was so much an honor talking to him.Johngyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18416011578421652629noreply@blogger.com
