He was in his late 30s and nearing his 20th season in the league. Whil...I was looking at the 1972 stats verses 1973. While Clemente loss is tragic its slightly debateable how much of future he would have had in 1973, while his BA was strong, he had career lows in games and ABs and less production since the first couple of years in his career. Rookies Richie Zisk and Dave Parker appeared to hold their own in his place. I think the big difference of 73 was from mysterious decline of pitcher Steve Blass.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
